One photo a day. Watch it grow.

Dayz is a simple, private Android app for tracking change over time. Snap your tomato seedlings, your hair regrowth, your beard or your skin, then play the whole journey back as a timelapse.

Android 7.0 or newer · No account · Photos stay on your phone

This is the real app layout. Tap around: open a day, play the timelapse, switch themes.

Made for anything that changes slowly

Progress is hard to see day to day. A photo a day makes it obvious.

Everything Dayz does

Every feature below is in the app today.

🗂️

Photo spaces

Create a space for each thing you track, such as “Beard growth” or “Tomato plant”. Rename or delete a space any time.

📅

Month view

A calendar grid shows one photo per day, with extra photos stacked behind it. See how many days you logged this month, or fit the grid to the screen or scroll a larger one.

🔢

Day 0 counting

Set your starting point, like the day before a treatment. Every photo is counted from it (“Day 30”), and earlier photos show as days before Day 0. You can change the date later.

➕

Add from your phone

Pick a photo or select several at once. Add extra photos for the same day from the menu.

👆

Two ways to browse

View all of a day’s photos together, or swipe through them one by one.

📝

Day notes

Write a note for any day: what you applied, how it felt, what you changed. Days with notes get a badge in the month view, even without a photo.

🎬

Timelapse player

Play your progress at speeds from 0.25× to 16×. Choose first photo of each day, all photos, 2nd photos only, or extras only.

📤

Share photos & video

Share a single photo or the timelapse video. Each one is stamped with the date and “Day N · posted on Dayz”.

💾

Backup & restore

Export everything (spaces, photos, notes) to one zip file and import it on a new phone. Dayz shows when you last backed up.

🎨

Five themes

Aesthetic, Black and White Stoic, Healthcare, Colorful personality and Lively.

Built-in help

A quick “How Dayz works” guide is one tap away on the home bar.

Coming from the web version?

Dayz also began as a web app. This site covers the Android app, which is the only version we currently support.

How it works

From first photo to shareable timelapse in four steps.

Create a space

Tap + on Home and name what you’re tracking. Set Day 0, your starting point, such as the day before a treatment begins.

Add a photo each day

Open your space and add today’s photo. Use the … menu to add more photos for the same day. Try to shoot in similar light and angle for the best comparison.

Watch the month fill up

The month view shows one photo per day with extras stacked behind. Add a note to any day to remember what changed.

Play it back and share

Tap Timelapse to watch your progress, pick a speed, then share a video or a single photo, stamped with the date and day number.

Keep your data safe

Your photos are stored on your phone. Use Customize → Backup → Export regularly so you can restore on a new device.

Frequently asked questions

Is Dayz free?

Pricing is shown on the app’s Google Play page. Dayz has no accounts and no subscriptions to manage inside the app.

Which devices are supported?

Dayz is Android only for now, on Android 7.0 or newer. There is no iPhone app at the moment.

What is Day 0?

Day 0 is your starting point, like the day before a treatment begins. Every photo is counted from it, so a photo a month in shows as “Day 30”. Photos from before it count as days before Day 0, and you can change the date later.

Where are my photos stored?

On your device only. Dayz has no account system and does not upload your photos to a server.

What if I lose or change my phone?

Export a backup from Customize → Backup, save the zip to your cloud storage or computer, and import it on the new phone. Because data lives on the device, clearing app storage or uninstalling without a backup deletes it. Importing replaces everything currently in the app.

Can I add more than one photo a day?

Yes. The extras stack behind the day’s main photo, and you can include or exclude them in the timelapse.

How do I make a timelapse video?

Tap Timelapse in a space, choose speed and which photos to show, then share. Keep Dayz open on screen while the video renders. At 1× a 30-day timelapse takes about 27 seconds.

Can I track more than one thing?

Yes, make as many spaces as you like, such as one for your garden and another for your hair.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Taking, viewing, noting and exporting all work without a connection.

Is Dayz a medical app?

No. It’s a photo journal. It can help you and your doctor see progress, but it doesn’t diagnose or give medical advice.

How do I contact you?

Use “Contact developer” in Customize, or email ifhu.queries+dayz@gmail.com.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Dayz is built to keep your photos yours. This policy explains what the Dayz Android app does with your information.

What we collect

We don’t collect personal information. Dayz has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking.

What stays on your device

  • Your photos, notes, space names and settings are stored locally on your phone.
  • They are never uploaded to our servers, because we don’t have any for your data.
  • Fonts and all app features are bundled, so Dayz works offline.

Photos and files

Dayz only reads photos you choose to add. Backups are created only when you tap Export, and you decide where to save them. Importing a backup replaces the data in the app.

Sharing

When you share a photo or timelapse, Dayz hands it to Android’s share menu. What happens next depends on the app you choose, and that app’s own privacy policy applies. Shared images include the date and the “posted on Dayz” label.

Network use

Dayz doesn’t send your photos or notes over the internet. Directly installed (sideloaded) versions can check for newer web files for the app. Versions from Google Play are updated by Google Play.

Children

Dayz collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Delete a photo or space inside the app, or uninstall Dayz or clear its storage to remove everything. We can’t recover deleted data, so export a backup first if you want to keep it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above.
